Cash for Commitment?

It was recently brought to my attention that a BDM in our Industry is currently offering equipment suppliers warm customer leads in exchange for an introductory commission!

I have to say I was a bit taken aback by this!

Introducing warm customers to you and earning an introduction fee for doing so, can only lead to conflicts of interest. How can you trust that you will be chosen over other suppliers selling similar equipment? If this is something being offered to you, you can be sure it’s also being offered to everyone else in your sector. So where do the loyalties lie? How can you trust that the broker is helping you close the deal when they have this arrangement with your competitors? I am guessing it comes down to those willing to pay the highest fee!

A business partnership is like any other relationship, it’s about give and take, and trust!

If you work with PMD and we have a customer who asks to be recommended to an equipment supplier for a specific machine and we think it’s one you can help with then we will automatically make the introduction and guess what? It won’t cost you a penny!

Here at PMD we are here to support our Supplier partners. We always deal with honesty and integrity. We work closely with your sales and management teams to help you however we can and this allows us to add real value.

We would also never write business with a customer using a facility we have in place for your equipment where you have introduced that customer to us.

I won’t ask you for an incentive in exchange for my help, that’s what I am here for! I am more interested in protecting your margin! For the last 20 years working for PMD, building relationships has been the backbone of what I do and the reason I have been successful in my field! Breaking your trust would simply not be conducive to the longevity of our relationship.

If someone wants an incentive to pass you a sales opportunity, bear in mind that it’s more than likely to have more drawbacks than it has benefits. Partner with us instead! We’ll work together to increase sales and develop a long standing and mutually beneficial relationship!
