How is the political landscape affecting businesses?

According to Close Brothers, one of PMD’s major funding partners, more than three quarters of companies report that their business has not been affected by the current political landscape & recent general election. But three quarters believe that the lack of a majority government will have a negative impact on Brexit. However there’s little or no appetite for another election.

Surprisingly perhaps, nearly two thirds of business owners say that their confidence in the future is the same as it was before the Brexit vote and the general election. Despite record high employment in the UK.

SMEs are more pessimistic than they were before the Brexit and election votes. Nearly a quarter now feel less confident about their future business prospects.
